ASPR has posted the final 2017-2022 Health Care Preparedness and Response Capabilities document on the phe.gov website. ASPR will issue clear expectations and priorities for Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) awardees and their sub-recipient HCCs for the upcoming five-year project period in January with the release of the 2017-2022 Funding Opportunity Announcement and the 2017 HPP Performance Measures. Healthcare coalitions will be effected by this document as preparations are made for the next five-year budget period (BP5). In January 2017, States will receive the 2017-2022 Funding Opportunity Announcement and the 2017 HPP Performance Measures.
CMS Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Participating Providers and Suppliers becomes effective on November 15, 2016. These rules must be implemented by November 15, 2017. Click here to go directly to the document on the Federal Register website.
A nationwide job search is underway for the position of Public Health Emergency Planner for the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment. Follow this link to the Johnson County Jobs board. Johnson County Department of Health and Environment has new Dispense Assist training videos for the public and for dispensers. The videos are available now.
The video for the public is accessible by anyone and walks the public through filling out a Dispense Assist form. The video for dispensers is located behind the firewall on www.kscri.org. If you have access to www.kscri.org, once you log in, you will have access to the video. It is recommended that you show these videos to your staff and document that training. Tisha Coleman is the new Administrator for the Linn County Health Department in Pleasanton, Kansas. She started her duties on June 1, 2016.
