Kansas City Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) Counties Receive Medical Countermeasure Operational Readiness Reviews from the State of Kansas
The last week of February, 2016 was a busy week for Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami and Wyandotte Counties in the State of Kansas. That is when the State of Kansas Strategic National Stockpile Program Manager came to spend a day with each of our counties to review medical countermeasure dispensing plans.
CRI or Cities Readiness Initiative is a federal program to assist large metropolitan areas with preparing for large scale public health emergencies. We won't know the results of the reviews for some time, but we relish the partnership we have with the State of Kansas and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in helping us meet our mission of providing prophylaxis to 100% of our identified population within 48-hours of the federal decision to do so. We can't accomplish that mission without oversight and hard work.
